Back in late 2014 I was on the hunt for a new ride. A good friend of mine told me about a guy with 3 E-body convertibles for sale. I went to look at them one morning even after he told me about the 71 Cuda 383 he had for sale at the same time.
There was a 70 Challenger L code 383 Blue with a white top dressed as an N code
a 70 G code Barracuda dressed as an H code 340 'Cuda Orange with a black top
and a 71 G code Challenger dressed as an H code Challenger RT Plum Crazy with a white top and interior
All 3 convertibles were in the $35,000 price range and no test rides were given. They were all in "driver" condition.

After looking at these I went to my friends to look at the 383 hardtop and ended up buying it for $28,000 which I drove home.
Do you think I made a good call???

Right call, I had a convertible and being in FL it was awful.
For a car I wanted to drive, it would have to be a hardtop.

I agree , that is the one I would choose .
Droptops "look" cool especially when parked , but living with one nope !

For sure - Hands Down the right choice!!!
She is So-oooo pretty all day long!

That 71 car - color combo you have is the Reason I got Bitten in the late 1990's
on Cuda cars!

All of the cars are beautiful and what you chose is what you liked the most, plus you saved $7000..

I would have gone with the 70 Barracuda Vert but I am partial. But you couldn't go wrong with any of the 4. They are all cool.

You made the right call. Convertibles look nice, but here in the desert, you're just going to get baked with the top down. Your 71 383 Cuda hardtop is a very sweet looking car!

You couldn't have gone wrong with buying any of the 4. However, I agree with your final choice. Nice car.

NOOO! you should have bought them all!
No really the one you have looks excellent. I would be second guessing it.

"This is how it should read missed the n't : I wouldn't be second guessing it. A Great Uncle would be knuckling me on the head for not proof reading it. "

He was a Proof reader for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

I sometimes look back and wonder what the fingers type!

Although the idea of a convertible sounds good, I don't think having one would be too fun. You definitely made the right choice as far as I'm concerned. I think they have to be in the right climate, and that isn't Arkansas. We only get a few weeks in the spring and a few weeks in the fall when dropping to top is feasible.
