I bought a Door Hinge Repair Kit from Classic Industries to fix the sagging driver-side door of my Challenger. It doesn't sag much, it's more of an annoyance. Has anyone had any luck with one of these kits and if so what type of suggestions might you have with doing the repair?

Does the kit not come with instructions? I've not reviewed the kit, nor have I looked at the directions.

There is a guy on this forum that rebuilds door hinges and does a superb job. But the market for this is dwindling, and he seems to do them in batches. I recommend you use his service and have all your hinges rebuilt. If yours is sagging and it bothers you, I recommend you use his service. A search on this (and the e-bodies.org forum) will give you the data to find him. I've worked with his hinge rebuilds, and they are very nice.

He does more than replace the pins.

Nope no instructions, that's why I'm asking.

Maybe the market is dwindling because brand new replacement hinges are available. A complete new set (both doors) from Classic Industries sells for around $200.00. Also I don't want restored hinges because my Challenger is in original condx and isn't a show car or even going to be a show car, it's a driver and survivor.

Thanks

Ok thanks for the info about them being junk. That's another reason I'll keep my originals and rebuild them myself. BTW, the hinges Classic Industries sells as many others do are identified as a "MOPAR Authentic Restoration Product." I would guess that has some importance.

The certification from Mopar only means that the part meets bare minimum standards and they pay a licensing fee. A lot of these parts fit poorly compared to originals

No instructions because they were not made to use on the lower hinge. They are just an extra set of upper hinge bushings and long GM pins.We use custom, oversized steel pins for the lowers as well as replacing most all other parts with new production USA made parts.
