Window Tint Questions

1970 Challenger vert

Lost front windshield decades ago. Still have side glass. Have no build sheet.

Questions:
- Is the tinted glass slight or medium tint? My side glass looks clear with very slight tint, but is it supposed to look slightly green?
- Can I tell if the side glass is tinted from the codes/lettering?
- Could the front windshield have been tinted, while side glass clear? or all glass either tinted or clear?

The tint is slight on the early glass as compared to tint we see today. If the factory glass was tinted, you will see the word "tint" next to the Pentastar (see photo). It is possible that the windshield was left untinted while the rest were tinted but more often the fact, glass was either all one or the other. As we all know, anything was possible when it comes to Mopar...

Here’s what I’ve noticed in my years of observation, either all the glass is tinted or just the windshield and that all the glass is always tinted on ac cars.

Great feedback guys thanks. My side windows have no "tint" word, so I have to decide to do windshield clear or tinted.

More questions:
- Is tinted front windshield the way to go functionally?
- Best source for quality windshields (fit/thickness/clarity)?

I got mine through David Radcliffe over at Roseville Moparts (Mike Riehls).
They deal glass with the pentastar so it doesn’t get much better.

Here’s what I’ve noticed in my years of observation, either all the glass is tinted or just the windshield and that all the glass is always tinted on ac cars.

Tinted glass was recommended but not required with a/c. My 70 RT has clear glass and a/c.

I have a 70 challenger convert no ac, clear glass and went with a tinted windshield. Tinted windshields have the blue band on the top.
