This is a real 340 Automatic on the floor. EV2 Tor Red with White top and tan interior. This car has been in Michigan and has not been on the road since early 80'. I have known this car since the 70's. I believe it was built for the 72' upcoming season TV show car. It has the original paint. The grille is a 72 And has the original paint on it. I have a good 71 Grille to go with it. I also have a good 71 Argent tail panel also that goes with it. It was power steering and power disc brakes. Manual top. Standard dash. Showing 27,000 miles. Original Rally hood car. This car was built between 1971 Indy pace cars 1- 340 ragtop #696. And 318 Car #713 March of 71. The car was painted white with pink accents for a guy's Wife back in 1979.He sold it to a guy who was going to put it all back together original colors. While at the shop restoring it the guy goes thru a divorce. The shop sold the original drivetrain to recoup money they had in it. Hence no original drivetrain. The car has some soft spots that were repaired back then. Not a total rusted out piece of crap. I have several engine options at extra cost. I am pretty firm on price.

A cool car. Would be interesting to dive in the car's history.
Especially the addition of the 72 grill at some point would make a good story.
Fender tag would be very helpful!

These are the two 71 Pace car verts listed on Indypacecars.com w 340 engines
Curious on where your car fits in on being built between these two.

JH27 H1B 337696 Bernard McGinty, President, McGinty Dodge Jim Beall, Twelve Mile, IN. 340 engine.
JH27 H1B 285649 R. B. McCurry, President, McCurry Dodge

Thank you

I have a written copy of the tag. . The guy i got the car from had three strokes. He is in bad shape. Supposedly has the tag. His girlfriend is trying to find it. When she can. This car's Vin ends in#699 and the other pace car is 713. . This car is unique

I remember hearing some stories about one or more '71 Challenger convertibles being converted to '72 models. The TV show Mannix came to mind, but some say he had a Cuda as opposed to a Challenger. But while looking, I found an article on a convertible on Mod Squad.
At work and can't dig further.
