this is one of my favorite threads!! keep up the work,, and more pics please!! what was wrong with the 1/4's? top window lip?

There were a few issues with the goodmark sheet metal. The quarters should have a notch where the window channel runs down along the quarter glass. We had to notch the channel to have everthing line up. Also the fuel fill spout was not punched correclly. We spotted this before paint.

Both inner fender aprons have issues, Left side battery tray area not punched correctly. The battery tray will not be level. The right inner fender apron does not have the notch where the fuel vapour line bracket mounts.

Tried two different vendors for window felts, the last one was the best of the two, but they were not 100% either.

What vendor did you eventually use. Did you have to rivet them in?????

I ended up using a set by Firestone collectibles, they are the closest fit I found. The doors look great, the quarter window felts are to low in the back and to high at the front.

Well things are coming together now, starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Had more bad luck with reproductions parts. My front bumper guards do not fit the repop bumper. They are not even close. Had to locate a original and have it rechromed.

Sounds really sweet! What cam did you end up using? In my '71 340 I have the 284 purple shaft cam.

Been watching this restoration for awhile. Outstanding job--keep going and kickin' -A on it. All going to be worthwhile the first cruise you do!

Great work.

well the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. We are on schedule for MATS.

The original bumper that we got rechromed turned out nicely. Now the bumperettes will fit properly.

440six, stumbled into this thread... absolutely amazing restoration. Love the original seat fabric... so cool that you got your old car back and restored it to it's former glory! Great job, enjoy the ride!
