1973 Cuda trunk torsion bar question

The 1973 Cudas trunk have one torsion bar. My trunk lid sits about 2 inches high on the right side. I lowered the tension to its lowest setting now it sits about 1 inch too high. Does anyone else have this problem or know why this occurs? Square bushing is good and trunk lid is new.

by your description, it seems like something is up with the hinge?

I vote remove the torsion bar, and see if the decklid lies flat, without it. if it still does not lay flat, it may be a hinge issue.
