70 Challenger fliptop gas door GAP??????

Is this the correct gap of how much black shows between trim ring and closed cap? This is of course made in China. It measures 1/2"......... just looks like it sticks off the quarter to much. Can someone measure an original? A picture would be awesome. I bought it a few years ago when I was gathering parts for resto, not even sure what dealer I bought it from. Hello, Most china made fliptops are inaccurate. If you take a close look as to the roll pin that runs through the chrome top and the black base, the chinese ones are drilled at the wrong angle thus tilting the chrome top "out" at the top. I have attempted to use the chrome top(although it is not correct) and pull the pin to place it on the base of original. Its just a bear and the time to do this is not worth it. What do you do? Find one that is not pitted, pull it apart, send the chrome off and put it back together with black painted base.

I think the flush fitting standard twist off body colour cap is better, I put one of these flip caps on stood back and looked at it and it looked like a big chrome wart on my rear quarter so in the bin it went and the standard cap went back on.
