71 Cuda 340 Convertible Restoration

Hi all;
If appropriate, I would like to include my new project, a 71 'Cuda 340 convertible. Purchased in 2019, and picked up 4 days before rotator cuff surgery so it is off to a slow start.
The prior owner was making it into a real street stormer with a Ray Barton built fuel injected 360 and Wildwood four wheel disc brakes for starters, but I am going back to a more original configuration. It is an automatic car with A/C, leather seats, and retains the fender tag and other "numbers" components.

Looks awesome! Hello from Canada! Mine is a 74 but the 71s are my favourite. Good for you for going back to more original. The 340 has always been my favourite engine.

I do not know what a "rotator cuff" is but one thing I do know is that I do not want to get it worked on...

Nice! I had a 71 Cuda 340 convertible automatic car that was my every day driver from 1981 to 1987. Wish I had it back. Welcome to the site, thanks for posting this article, and good luck with your resto!

I also have a 71 cud 340 automatic convertible; my favorite engine. Yours looks to be in better shape than mine was when purchase back in 1991. Mine does not have A/C, but is a factory shaker car. I'd bet there weren't many with your color. You'll have a lot of satisfaction as the project progresses. Good luck and send photos.

First project is to get it on four wheels and hook up brakes. The prior owner was partway through an upgrade of the original four wheel drums to four wheel discs, with the "Cordoba" setup on the front and Wildwood discs and green bearing axles on the rear. unfortunately, the rear setup wont work with factory wheels, only the "Weld" modular wheels. So on to search for parts (i may have the old ones) and maybe I can sell the new stuff, some parts were never installed.
