I think the Egyptian Engineers used that level too. Maybe even the Roman's building roads. They did a pretty good job!Thats the only level I own, that's not a laser.
I know there's a pun there!the difference between book smarts and street smarts.
That plastic SEM coating looks great. Don, you probably said somewhere in your updates, but what coating did you use on your inner fender areas?splash shields, Love my sandblasting cabinet, makes plastic look new too. with the new fender supports had to cut out some of the original plastic. simply measured down from top of inside fender to top of the new fender support and left about a quarter inch more for a snug fit. then slowly removed and rechecked the distance from the side to side. I didn't push the shield all the way in and caused a small gap between the two since. not bad, used some black rtv to seal the deal. Caulk and paint will make a carpenter what he ain't as they used to say.View attachment 144119View attachment 144120View attachment 144121View attachment 144122View attachment 144123View attachment 144124View attachment 144125View attachment 144126View attachment 144127

ok I had a plan but of course a better idea came into mine. I cut into the old repair, wood as I thought, with some hilo drywall screws used to fasten the wood strip to the hood. they are called hilo screws because it has a set of high threads and a set of low threads, looks like a damn drywaller did it
. I should know been doing that stuff for a living for 38 years. but anyways removed the wood cut a relief on the center support so it can relax back into position. well pretty stiff still got it to go into the correct spot but was alot of pressure to hold it there. so I had my new carpet out in the sun to relax a bit to relieve the wrinkles from packaging, so i moved the car off the lift and out into the sun to help warm up the hood to relieve some of the memory in it to get it to relax with the help of some cement blocks placed on cardboard strips. Cut some metal strips for the u cap I will be Fabing tomorrow, after the weight and heat hopefully helps get it closer into position. to be continued tomorrow.
