looking for best process to correctly place clip holes ,on a barracuda ,to add this trim option.
Thank You for any feedback

Not sure, but someone will be along to clarify. I think it depends on the year. Early trim went on the panel and later trim (like my 73) went on the trunk lid. What year are you working on?

Here are some reference photos for the M88 Deck Moulding a.k.a. Cuda tail panel stainless trim surround.
This LINK has details as well. Hope this gets you going with adding this trim.

Another member posted this info and a few photos. I would try to get the holes symmetrical on both sides regardless of the measurements.
The upper and lower horizontal (long) pieces have holes that are vertically-aligned top to bottom. The end "C" sections are slightly offset for the top and bottom holes. The outer holes appear almost centered but use the photos to get it as close as you can.

I wrote the numbers down where each hole lands like I said left to right. Take a look at where I started the tape measure to get an idea. First hole is at
2-1/2", then 9", 16", 29", 39-1/2", 49-1/2", 56-1/2", 63".

Photos of removed tail panel and holes below with tape measure.
