My same thoughts. I tried to access Mecum's T/A Challenger auction sale prices but it requires a password. Thought possibly Mecum brings higher auction prices for T/A Challengers than BJ in Scottsdale.

Here's an interesting tid-bit. The average auction sales price (disregarding 5% of high & low sales) for a 1973 Challenger based on data from a total of 92 auction sales at Barrett-Jackson, Mecum and Carlisle are: 340cid/240hp $28,019 and 318/150hp $17,300.

Funny how the sale prices fluctuate so much. Definitely seeing a downward trend. I should probably stop putting so much money into the restoration of my Top Banana 4-speed #s matching w/build sheet, T/A registry and documentation. Let's hope the values return someday...

If you are restoring a car to sell, don't plan on getting the return on your money any time soon. Always cost more to restore than to buy one done especially if you are not doing most of the labor yourself. But then you miss out on the fun part and seeing what you have accomplished1

So true. I only restore cars for myself and not for resale. I do most all of the work myself because I truly enjoy the process from research to assembly and everything in between.

There is a TA Challenger similar to yours that is for sale by a dealer listing in Hemmings Motor News.
Looking for 99K with some documentation and fully restored. It is a two tag car.
Prices are really all over the place.

Just to make a comparison, I went back to Mecum TA sales prior to 2010 to see how things have been long term.
Some of the sales were almost 10 years old or older
Looks like sales really improved a little since the 08 financial crash
There were a lot of no sales on the TA's back then.

Wish I had a crystal ball for market projections. What is amazing is the off-shore market for classic Mopars. The tariffs and shipping add a lot to the final cost.

It is amazing how many Mopars end up in Europe. There is actually a Swedish registry w car info and serial numbers. I found it when I doing research on where and who imported my old 70 RT SE 440 to Sweden.

The amount of American collector cars going to the EU makes me wonder. Shipping is $2,000 to $3,000, Value Added Tax (VAT) is 5-7%, registration fees TBD by country of residence, possible sales tax. The vehicle must be 30 years or older and original - no modifications to chassis, steering, brake system, engine, etc. The probability of these cars ever coming back is ?
