The wires through the resistor controls the blower motor speed. The one I show is non A/C and is two speed. Yours is a 3 speed blower motor. Your plug looks like what is in this drawing showing 3 speeds. The resistor and switch determine speed of blower motor.

BTW. When that resistor opens up on a leg, the blower motor many times only has off and a single speed instead of 3 speeds.

The reason that resistor is mounted in the heater box is when the blower is on, it is moving air past that resistor helping to cool the coils. Not sure if that was your question or not.

have power to the lite green at the switch, but no where else. no power coming out of wire on fire wall at harness plug. inspected the resistor and it look like new....

Something not right there the switch definitely switches on and off the motor and adjusts the speeds.
