Don't know if this has been answered before but what is the Correct way to place bumper jack in trunk? How did it come from the factory new?
Most I see are like the first pic but the second pic seems to fit the way it was intended.

I have mine the same way as the blue car so I can get at the jack control to tension the spring.
Chrysler jacking decal shows same as blue car.

You make a good point and observation in referencing the jacking decal as like the blue car.
So even if the jack stem shape fits better into the rear bracket and lies flat at the top bracket it does leave the tension spring in an awkward position like you say.
Thanks for the quick response.

In the blue car pic it is missing the lug wrench which goes in first and goes through the hoop.
The jack sits on the lug wrench at the bracket on the trunk floor.
The loop on the spring actually goes around the shaft of the lug wrench and pulls it up tight when you tension the spring.
I have mine the way the jacking decal shows and it works good. No rattles and has never come loose.
