Defrost Vent Alignment -Non AC Heater Box

First E Body Im dealing with.
What gives on the Defroster vent duct not aligning or sealing to the Heater?
I have about a 1" gap after I finally got the J Bolt connected.

Ive seen pics that there is not a foam seal.
Just a quick post for Help before I pull out the parts book.
