Just out of curiosity- what is the difference in the mounting and fitting of the different years of challenger grills? I assume the 72-74 are all about the same and interchangeable but what about the 70's and 71's. Can they be swapped with the other years? Personally the 72-74 grills make those years the least desirable E-body's for me but they are always the cheapest cars. So a swap up front might make all the difference.

Technically all the grilles will interchange if you use the complete front fascia from the 72-74. The problem is 70 & 71 fenders have headlight buckets welded into them. The headlight buckets are in the fiberglass fascia in the 72-74. If you want to put a 70 grille and headlight bezels set up in a 72-74 you will need to weld 70 & 71 headlight buckets into the 72-74 fenders. I believe someone is offering the buckets for the conversion. The 70 grille weighs the least of all the grilles.
