was there an electronic ignition dist available in early 1970 challenger 340 4bbl. or was it dual point? my harness seems to have the plug for the electronic module, and the dist i got with it is electronic not points.

From what I am seeing the answer is no, electronic ignition was not standard until 1972. However, it was a very popular upgrade even back in the day and it could be purchased as a kit through Direct Connection (aka Mopar Performance now Direct Connection again).

Early 71 340 only was electronic, the earlier points, depeding on the options either dual or single points.

i just purchased a restoration and judging guidelines compedium book for 70to74 e bodys so i am going to start checking and documating everything i have for the car. wish me luck! after that i will be in the market for the correct parts.

They are great to have. Half the fun is locating the right number parts. One of the reasons I do this. It is amazing what cars are still out there.

how much for the 40/9 ? my build date is 10/29/69.

That will work. Without a core $365 and the ride. Core is worth 75 to me.
