Dual Scoop Hood 70 vs 71

So I watched this YouTube video about what is better, a 70 or 71 Cuda and the commentator says that the 71 dual scoop hood had its scoops moved backward relative to the 70 hood. I have never heard that before. I know crumple zones were added in I think late 70 but never heard about the scoops moving. Anybody ever heard of that?

I've owned two 70 Cudas, from1983 until now, and that is the first time I have ever heard of that.

Bottom line: The Cuda Performance Hood (J54) outer skin remained the same from 1970 to 1974 except for minor differences with holes for emblems.

The only exterior differences involved holes on the scoops for the engine callout or a front emblem denoting "PLYMOUTH".
1970 & 1971 Cuda (BS) models had hood scoop holes for either `cuda 340, `cuda 383, `cuda 440, `cuda 440-6 or hemicuda.
The 1970 Barracuda (BH) models could be optioned with the Cuda Performance Hood (J54) beginning in late-November 1969. Hood pins (J45) were mandatory with J54 in 1970. Hoods optioned for BH models did not receive the `cuda hood emblems since they were not actually Cudas and the scoops would not have holes punched for emblems.

The 1971 hood gained the "PLYMOUTH" emblem in front of the driver's side hood pin.
1972 & 1973 Cuda models could be had with a 318 and no hood emblem or a 340 with `cuda 340 emblems. 1972 was the last year for Hood Pins (J45).
1974 Cuda models could be had with a 318 and no hood emblem or a 360 with `cuda 360 emblems.

AFAIK hoods are the same. I'd like to add to everything MoparCarGuy said. The scoop inserts are different for 1970, they mount from the back with PAL nuts. The scoop has to come of to do so, maybe that's why Mopar went with screws & well nuts. There's a reproduction out there with no holes that advertises as '70 to '74 but technically those are correct for 1970 only. I pointed that out to the maker and he said buyers can just drill holes if they choose that style.
