I’m new here and excited to join the Mopar community. I’m 16 years old and just starting to dive into these cars. I’ve always been drawn to E-bodies, and lately I’ve been seriously looking into purchasing a ’71 Challenger.
Since I’m still learning the ropes, I wanted to introduce myself and hopefully get some advice from you all who have experience with these cars. What are some things I should watch out for when buying one? Any common problem areas, or things that can save me from a headache down the road?
any tips, stories, or wisdom you’re willing to share would be greatly appreciated.
Looking forward to chatting with you all and soaking up some Mopar knowledge!

Welcome from Virginia. As others said buy the most complete car you can. Take your time when working on it and do it safely. Download or purchase a service manual. When you need help ask the community. We have all been there before. Post pic t uses of before during and after. We all like eye candy.

Welcome to the site from Arkansas!
I would agree with above posts. The more complete the better. 👍🏻

Welcome to FEBO from the desert! Be patient, the right E-Body will come your way! Continue to save money and buy the most complete car you can find! Glad to have a younger man interested in old Mopars!

Absolutely buy the most complete car that you can. 1970 and 71 have a ot of 1 year only parts that make them more expensive to buy parts for, after you find them.
Read, Read, Read. Educate yourself as much as you can .
Experience can be very expensive to learn.

Welcome from another in Michigan. Just be patient and take people with you that know more about to what to look feel and listen for. They are out there. I picked up my red 70 R/T S.E. less than a year ago for way less than they are going for these days.
