I started the summer with the intent of replacing my electric fan with the factory setup simple job it would seem. Until as you all know and remember the dissemble then leads to oh let fix that and lets paint that too! So took my radiator out well it need rebuilt, this then exposed my front of the 340 and it looked terrible the paint was tri colored, chipped and pealing so of course we rolled up both sleeves and took the alternator, water pump and pulleys off and guess what the rubber for the harmonic balancer was also cracked so off it came to. Then looking at the timing chain cover it was like the rest of the parts needing some cleanup and paint also so off it came. Thinking back after spending two weeks scraping and sanding the front of the heads and block maybe pulling the engine would have been easier. Then time to order parts and that a......oh maybe another time. So the bottom line is I just started it last week-end. I have attached pictures from beginning to end because I love it when we get pictures. Oh and if anyone is looking for a 7 blade fan Wildcat wrecking has a pickup bead full

Found a new one from Jegs, came in black so i painted to match. Oh and man had to send back Alternator until my auto parts finally was able to locate the three wire hookup, but with perseverance we received the right one and its a 55 amp so will work great.

Typical project escalation, looks great. My philosophy is, if your going to dig into a project just do everything only once.
My engine went from this to this, but was more intentional. Also an excellent choice in beer. One of my favorites.
