Fuel tank install

Im getting ready to install my new tank , is it easier to strap it in then install the filler neck , plus the neck in trunk gasket , here's my old tank , hope to reuse the sending unit but I did get a new brass float and sock .

I would install the sending unit (use a lock from Van's as they are thicker) and install the filler neck seal first. Then strap the tank in. Don't forget the isolation strips between the gas tank straps. Also, you should have an isolation mat between the trunk floor and the tank to prevent rubbing of metal to metal. What I do.

I was going to use the locking ring that came off the old tank , I did get the isolation straps and a new mat also , its super tight with this new gasket , just worried about putting to much pressure on the straps but with some lube I guess it should be fine .
