My granpda bought a 73 barracuda back in the day when it was brand new. Just a b5 blue 318 car. Its been wrecked several times and my dad drove it to school on fridays until 20 years ago it was parked and never moved again. My grandpa would never sell it or junk it because he was ganna fix it someday. But he soon found out that he wouldnt be able to. So with me being in highschool at the time and taking autobody he decided to give to to me and my dad to work on. Me and freinds tore it apart over the corse of a semester and started breething new life into her. But me being a kid with no money didnt help. Shes still a work in progress. My grandpa being a veteran suffered from a slure of different mental problems and was in a lot of pain. As hard as it is to say he took his life last fathers day. That car is all i have left of him now. I just wished i could have finished it so that he could drive it one more time. But i know that hell be in the passenger seat when i bust her off Again. At least i got it to run one more time so he could heare it. But i thought id share some pictures of the car and its slow transformation.

Sorry to hear about how troubled your grandpa was towards the end and I'm sorry for your loss. His family and that car are his legacy and I think he's would be proud of both. I hope he knows that there are a lot of us that are still proud of him for his service to our country.

Sorry for your loss. Your Grandfather is very proud of you and is watching you all the way along. He will be in the passenger seat beside you every time you take it out. I know this because you have shared this story here and it says you won't let his memory be forgotten. It is through these stories, among other things, that we keep our loved ones with us. I'm following along too.

Sad story Moparman. Thanks for sharing. You will definitely have more emotion involved when you get her done. What a great tribute to a man who obviously meant so much to you. Good Luck with the project. I will be watching the progress.
