I am building a RetroMod. A Restomod is when someone updates an older car with new and aftermarket components. But I decided to bring this old Dodge into the 21st. century. I am putting the 70's body on the floor pan of a 2017 Challenger SRT ScatPac 6spd. only 1550 miles on it. the car is 95% off the shelf Mopar the rest is up to me. The goal is to produce a car that appears to have been built by the Chrysler Corp.

Welcome. Nice project. I love the effort. That's a pretty daunting task to make look good. Which neck of the WI woods are you in?

Mequon, a touch North of MKE. You can set your profile so it shows under your name if you want, mine does. There is a decent contingent of E-bodies in SE WI.

When I started this project we bought a good driveline donor and I had plans to use the independent rear as well. But never once considered swapping platforms until I had the two cars side by side. and saw that the 2017 interior looked like it would fit inside the 70. The 2017's wheelbase is 6.1 inches longer, the body is about 5 inches deeper, and a few inches wider. So time to get the tape measure out and I bought a good tram gauge. and got to work. turns out that the location of the front axle lines up and the rad support is also the right distance. the front frame rails are 1/8 narrower than stock. And that's just about where the similarities end.

Rich, welcome from Michigan. Cool project. What's your goal for finishing that last 5% that is on your own? Very nice work.
