I do not think this is very uncommon, they never fit all that well when new and the redone pads seem to be hit and miss sometimes.

got it from classic industries or whom ever made it

Pulling a dash pad is not really hard as you should know now that you installed one. Always much easier the second time around. The pad does not require total disassembly of the dash assembly.
