How does the disassembly go? The FSM just shows how to remove/replace the assembly in the car.

Working on a 70 Cuda with manual foot pump.

Also, does the Ford replacement rubber fit a Mopar pump? Below is the one for sale for a Mustang.

Here is a picture of my pump out of my 71 Barracuda. Looks like the one end of the rubber bellows feeds thru the hole of the bracket and the plastic fitting is most likely glued or threaded to seal it. I guess it is possible that the bellows fits over the top of the fitting that extends through the hole of the bracket.

I took a chance and unscrewed the plastic valve using a 1" wrench and it didn't brake; Thank God!

The rest was easy.

Nice! I just wasn't willing to take mine apart as it still is functional. Since the parts are plastic, they probably will come apart because they are not rusted together.

I ordered the replacement rubber for a Ford Mustang from National Parts Depot. I'll come back and let you know how it fits. Fingers crossed.

I have one of those, not sure where I got it but I think it is out of a Challenger. Since this is the subject here, did the foot pump only come on the 2spd wipers?

How much could Chrysler have saved putting in a foot pump? We know that everything done was to save money. You need a hole in the floor, someone to install the pump and run the hose from the tank to the foot pump and a hose to the windshield. Now take the pump wire to the pump and the hose to the WS. Seems they could have saved a lot more time with the electric pump.

My pump has 3 sheet metal screws holding it to the floor and 2 hoses running through the firewall via a 2 hole grommet to the washer fluid tank. No holes in the floor.

Mine has a 2 speed wiper. I don't see why a foot pump wouldn't work with a 3 speed wiper.

I received the rubber part from National Parts Depot and finished reassembly of the manual washer pump. I used a garden hose gasket and a bit of silicon grease on the plastic threads and under the rubber as it is self-centering. I left a review on NPD letting them know this is exactly the same rubber part as the Mopar uses. So, maybe they will list it for Mopars in the future.

The use of a foot pedal to wash your windshield is like using a pencil when you can use an electric typewriter. My 17 year old Ram windshield washer electric pump still works.

Yes, but it was cool when you could change the radio station with a foot switch.
