I have 1973 cuda 340. I need a power steering gear box, will a gear box from a 1972 demon 225 fit my 73 cuda 340?

Welcome to the site from Michigan! Go the welcome wagon and introduce yourself, and we need to some pictures of your Cuda.

Welcome Bert, I don't know if a Demon gear box will work or not. I just recently replaced my 73 Cuda & 440 with a Firm Feel stage II and was very impressed with the difference over the stock gear box. The cost of the gear box was around $400 - $450 plus shipping after the core charge.

Can't say for certain but A-body steering gear is different than most. Some B-body steering components interchange with E-bodies

My name is Bert, I have a 1973 Cuda 340. I've had it for 30 years. I drive it a couple of times a week during the summer and to a few shows.

Welcome , Great looking Cuda !
I just looked on Rock auto , it doesn't list a power steering unit for 72 but it does for 73 which is the same part # between the Dart & Cuda so something changed between 72 & 73 so I would say no it will not work , I do agree that A Firm Feel or Steer & Gear stage 2 or 3 is a big upgrade over stock .

Welcome to the site from Arkansas! I know when Firm Feel did my steering box (aar ratio) , I was told the 73 shaft was larger. Not sure from A body to E though.
Nice looking Cuda!!

In 1973 the shaft size changed (Larger). Call Firm Feel (Left Coast) or Steer & Gear (East coast) They most likely can fix yours, My 73 Challenger has a power steering box from a 1980 Diplomat, Steer and Gear E-Mailed me the day they received it to let me know it wasn't original.
