Relax. the site is down for maintenance. it says so (when it's running) right there on the login screen. Are there any admins from there on here? I'm locked out of my account there
Thanks. I'm a pretty relaxed guy. I was just asking because I'm locked out because my account is linked to an old email I no longer have. Was just wondering if there was someone on here that was also an admin there that would be able to help me out. Thank you for your concern though.Relax. the site is down for maintenance. it says so (when it's running) right there on the login screen.
they are restoring it, and performing other tasks which I need not disclose. But there may be an ongoing tit-for-tat war with the hacker(s). I am confident once it's straightened out, the site will remain up for several more years.
when the forum part of the site is fully up and running, I recommend you change that email address. I've run into this before, and it can be a real heartache when we no longer have access to a prior email account. In fact, it's on my TODO list to update a forgotten login. thanks for the reminder.Thanks. I'm a pretty relaxed guy. it's just another mopar e-body forum, and some members are also here, often using the same "forum name." that site differs from this in the free content it shares outside of the forum, such as service manuals, parts books, how-to guides, fender tag decoders, etc. Aside from that extra content, the sites are otherwise pretty similar.I haven’t looked around to much, at the other site. Everyone I’ve talked with here has been above board, friendly, most have forgotten more than I will ever know about e-bodies. I learn something every time I read this forum.
That site had more than hackers.
There were people who had become members that were actively stealing money from site members through parts sales (supposed parts).
When those people were cut off, they activated accounts that had been unused for many years and began stealing from real members again.
When the thieves were kicked off they hired hackers. Now that is who is attacking the site. All due to dishonest people who were stealing money from members for parts sales.
Cody has at least stopped the theft. But now the thieves target him directly due to him cutting off hidden revenue for the group of thieves.
This is all hearsay from me. I'm no messenger of the site. This is just how I understand what has happened.
I missed it too. stealing? was the buyer beware? while I'm not blaming the buyer(s), keeping themselves protected and following the rules goes a long way to save time and money. This is the first I have heard of any of this, was it not well discussed? How long ago did it start.
Must have missed it.
Again, hearsay on my part. I'm not connected to the ownership or anything on the site. That's just what I heard from a few folks here and there and on the grass. I'm probably just repeating rumors. Now I feel like a Karen. This is the first I have heard of any of this, was it not well discussed? How long ago did it start.
