I'm putting a 4 speed with a rear mounted short Pistol Grip in the RoadClone and have a question. When I set shifter tunnel on the transmission hump, how much room is supposed between the shifter tunnel and the gas pedal? If I set it where the tunnel mates to the floor pan I have less than an inch of clearance, by the time I get carpet in, I'll have no clearance. Do I just need to get the hammer to make it fit? Please Help :icon_scratch:

Do you have the trans in with the shifter where it needs to go? Not going to be able to adjust the shifter area much so I would make it fit there first then see what you got down low. It should all line up though but if not a hammer adjustment could be made but I don't think you should need to.

Leo, It's a RoadRunner Clone. Figure the E body guys know this trans tunnel better than B body guys. Engine and transmission are in place, shifter tunnel is cut and linkage installed. When I went to install the new trans tunnel it is almost rubbing the gas pedal. May just have to "cut to fit" "paint to match"

Yes, that's it. I guess I could have shared that Cuda/Challenger use the shifter tunnel as '71-74 B-body with bucket seats and a 4 speed.

I know it is close to the gas pedal , if it is too close for comfort I would modify the pedal not the floor pan

I have thought about that too. I just want to make sure it looks right before I weld it down. But I'm getting excited, I should be bangin' in gears soon.

Well got it in. Carpet with jute backing has about 1/2 inch clearance to the gas pedal. Gas pedal goes to the floor, can't ask for better than that :-)
