Was wondering what Trans fluid to run in my a230 manual transmission. Service manual says ATF. but was wondering if there is a better fluid out there now to run, like the royal purple syncomax.
It seems he A230 is the 3 speed manual trans used in the 60s & early 70s if so then you need GL4 fluid , GL5 is too slippery for the syncros to work correctly , so I would use 80-90 gear oil not ATF especially if it is only driven in warm weather .
