Looks like the fuel vapor canister hose.

That needs to be vented back into the crankcase via a breather on your valve cover. Have you accommodated for a crankcase vent?

It goes to the bottom of the air cleaner.

This is on a 71 On newer years It may hook to the charcoal vapor canister

If you don’t have E.C.S (Evaporative Control System) on the car, either the correct three nipple crankcase breather or a functional charcoal canister vapor recovery system, remove the hose from the enclosed bowl vent valve nipple and leave it open to the atmosphere.
