Why all the hype? 4 speeds

My Daily right now is a Diesel 5 spd .
I'm sorry to inform you of this recall. It just sucks! Sorry about you luck!

I taught both of my daughters to drive in my manual-shift Jeep. When they got their learner’s permits at fifteen and a half, their classroom was our steep driveway. The first lesson was simple and unforgiving: start from a dead stop going uphill. The rule was clear, if they could start and stop ten times in a row without stalling, we could move on to the highway behind our house.

It took many evenings. There were frayed nerves, a few tears, and plenty of stalled engines. But persistence won. By the time they earned their licenses, they were better with a stick shift than any of the boys in the neighborhood.

Driving wasn’t the only lesson. I taught them how to rotate tires, change oil, and service brakes, how machines work, and how confidence comes from understanding, not avoiding, hard things. As a rite of passage, each of them drove the entire Rubicon Trail for the first time at sixteen.

Today, they’re grown amazing mothers, with solid careers and partners married to capable, manly men (an airline pilot and an engineer/land surveyor). And yet, when it comes to driving skill, they more than hold their own. They earned that confidence the hard way...one uphill start at a time.

Defiantly! On a heavy highway job mid 90's. The operator had a company truck like that. He would not give it up. He told the owner if they got rid of the truck he was gone! It had 500K on it. It got him everywhere. Nothing like a Diesel cab heat and the rhythm to put you into a good nap. Until the lighting passes.

Heck, that picture is only a few years old, as you know Heminut, he's taller than me now and wants to take you for a ride in his second Challenger!!

it’s kind of like tho old Almond Joy vs Mounds candy commercial back in the day for me. “Some days you feel like a nut, some days you don’t.” I’ve got both kinds. I love my AAR with a 4 speed. An ebody stick shifts way better than ANY b body 4 speed. I’ve let several friends who have b body 4 speed drive my Cuda. Everyone one of them jump out of the car saying” Wow, how can I make mine shift like that. It shifts like butter”.

And I love my 70 Charger RT 440 console auto with air. It’s got 2.76 gears and cruises nice and smooth on the highway at 80 mph. I’ve been in lots of 4 speed at highway speeds and autos are just smoother to me.

His hair was a lot shorter too! We're looking forward to getting back over there to spend some time with you guys soon!

That kid drives like I do, kinda scares me when I'm sitting on the passenger side!
