Nice project. I like it. My red 70 Challenger is a 383 R/T S.E. also.

Progressed more down the track. Stripped down the interior and removed the engine and driveline and have stripped off all the paint on the body and starting a few rust repairs.
The body is pretty good and the floors are great

Nice work on a great car! Did you import it or was it already in country?
A collector brought it into australia in 2010 and stored it with his collection of over 20 Challengers in his factory . i got lucky last year when he said he might sell the RTSE ,so i bought the car and i am hoping for paint to be finished about August or early September. Good painters are always busy and you got to wait for a slot. I am doing all the bodywork and mechanical also.
The 383 has it's original holley carb on it and i got the engine running soon as i got the car and it runs well. Has power steering and power disc brakes , rear window defrost and a 3.23 shure grip and original factory pistol grip shifter. I am using Glasurit paint system on this car. This is a pic of my last car i did and sold last year 70 RT 440 4 speed , Gator grain roof

That must’ve been hard to let go of!

It was great to follow along on the challenger. Very impressive.
Looks like we won't be following along with this one for long.
Take this one back to the guy with 20 when your done and trade for another higher valued challenger. Repeat, repeat. Gotta love big collectors.

Can you post the fender tag? I would love to decode it.
Did the car come with a broadcast sheet or possibly a build sheet?
Any factory documentations retained with it?

Being an L.A. car I doubt the documents or BS but I have to ask.

Thanks for the comments, the collector i got the car from is very wealthy. Funny you should mention that i should show him the car when finished another guy who is sort of a collector wants to come and look at the car when it is painted. The guy i bought the car from is trying to find the tag. No BS. I am told that a 70 RTSE 383 4speed in top banana is low production car . Do you think that could be true?

Pretty rare, probably only less than 100
Chart shows percentages based on color, no way to know engine/trans percentages.
