4k sqft with a couple lifts for my toys. It’s not a business just a money pit lol
Nice
I'm jealous. I am working out of a two car garage, one for storage, the other for my car. I make it work.
I'm with you; our "toys" do cost money!

Yeah it’s nice but it’s 30 min from my house and I don’t get much time to go there.

Sold the challenger a couple years ago. Dart has full pro touring suspension 340 4 spd with efi. It’s getting painted now. Satellite we are building for my dad. It’s a 440 727. Cuda is 72 that I am doing 340 six pack that is in final assembly phase now. Also have about 5-8 wranglers and 10-15 bikes that we part out and sell on eBay.

Started the cutting out of rusty panels on the right side quarter and trunk extension. Want to get everything ready for welding. Left side patches already cut and waiting.
Cut the top of the old trunk extension (rt side) out for better access to removing the panel. It was in worse condition then the left side and needs replacement

I noticed spot welds on the bracket beween the bottom of the trunk extension and the bracket. Looks like a tough area to drill out the spot welds!

I did a one piece trunk floor and I think if I ever have to do another one I will probably cut it inside the trunk very close to the taillight panel and seam weld it all the way across leaving those spot welds and that folded lip alone (as long as there is no rust in the join) I had a real hard time with that part even with a rear quarter removed it was still difficult. I did have some rust in this seam so I had no choice but your looks clean.

The trunk floor was in poor shape with severe rust where the exhaust hangs.
The frame rails are excellent. There was some rust on the right side back floor where the trunk floor met the trunk extension. Other then that, I could have just butt welded the floor in at the back by cutting the L lip. I have removed most of the 2 in area that goes against the tail panel. The right side trunk extension welds drilled out pretty easy.
First time doing this; so I am taking it slow. I was hoping the two piece floor would make it a little easier, even though I would have to weld the center seam.
Aussie; thanks for your thoughts

Finally, entire trunk floor out including lip under tail panel.
Not as bad as I thought it would be.
I plan to do the rear outer quarter panel patches first. Then work my way into ROUGHLY installing the rt side trunk extension and trunk floor panels.

A good Rust neutralizer that I am using is called KW Seal Out. You can get it a good Auto Paint Shop. It works real good in the inner door panel you can spray it on and it has a coating that covers real well it may seat out the drip holes in the doors but will not harm the paint. Just wipe of the drips it seals the seams and any thing that it coats, works really in the rear quarters also spray from the top and it will coat all the way to the bottom. This product is yellow in color, the have a Black color that is for frame rails and K

Finally bit the bullet & went all the way looks like good clean steel should have any issues with welding

Thanks for the comments.
Definately mission creep; the more I worked it, the more it made sense to just remove and replace the full trunk floor. :BangHead:

Getting into more finite body repair details.
Ordered the inner wheel well to be used to repair the back of the right side wheel well where it meets the trunk extension.
Will just cut what I need and use the rest of the piece for other small patches.
Seems like a waste; but it should fit the best in the small area needed and save fabrication time (which is not my forte)
Trunk extension already gone!
