Back splash. That dent makes it hard to get gas in the car, with the newer style gas pumps.

My 70 Cuda doesn't have that dent. This neck isn't dented either.

I thought the bump was to hold the tip of the gas nozzle in the correct position.

Yes. Even the repops have one.

Thanks for everyone’s answers. I bought on from Roseville Auto Parts and it also has the dent in it

I had local Dr Dent take the dent out and it looked good
