Anybody have a pic of the firewall at the blower motor area? Im restoring my engine bay and the hole for the motor looks oval around it. Seems like there should be a gasket or something but need some reference so I know. Other thread post recommendations would help too.
Thanks!

There is definitely a gasket on the inside of the firewall

This is a 73 cuda. Original a/c car. Replaced the lower section of the firewall for non a/c. The gasket material is on the inside, like some of previous pics. If you enlarge you can see it.

Thats what mine looks like. Apparently there were 2 types, earlier and later. Looked like water or fumes could go in there but if the gaskets inside i should be ok. Car was pretty unmolested. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for the input.

It’s a thick fiber type gasket on mine. Should seal very well when new. Good luck sir.

Thanks for the pics. Been a long time since I had an e body. Pleasure to work on compared to the a bodies but im not doing a custom build on this one. Shes gotta stay preserved in correct form. Learning a lot from the site. A lot of beautiful cars on here. Hope I can add to it real soon.

Strange but behind the firewall. Not like a bodies where its sealed in front and behind. Looks like no seal but a dead space in front. Ain't gonna see water again anyhow. Anatomically correct.

Yea, different on the e bodies. It should be sealed on the inside.
