Went golfing yesterday and see a new Challenger parked next to me.
Neat to see the matching colors, but the new cars are HUGE.
Just like the originals, Mopar is bigger than the Mustang and Camaros.

Does that TEE you off! Do you thing their under par? I made my opinion on a site and the owner of the site had my opinion deleted. Big boys do cry and run away, when they don't like what they see or hear! I pull no punches and I don't care!

I did come to know someone that worked on the LX line. That is from what I understand. I didn't dwell into his personal business. I respect others privacy unless they elaborate. I also gave him my opinion about the LX challenger. He listened with reverence. The next time I seen him. He informed me of the Challenger Shakedown. He also said there were going to be some exterior changes and a complete change of the interior. He could not tell me when the changes would be in effect. This was almost 15 years ago. I knew his mother from working at power plants. Knew her before I knew him. After words I would ask her if he was around. He is difficult to connect with, aways on the go.

I think the Gen 1 challengers look meaner and leaner.

Fatter yes. The new ones are nice automobiles though. Comfortable, roomy, quiet and stable. I set the cruise at 100 on our SRT-8 for a couple miles. It's like driving 55.

I have driven both of my cars shown in Post #2 above across the country from coast to coast. The 71 convertible was comfortable for the time in 1973/4. It got a best fuel mileage of 21 mpg at 70 mph I was about 21 years old at the time. I have driven my 2015 across country in 2017. It's comfortable, gets great gas mileage (about 27mpg) on the open road at 75mph. I was 67 years old at the time. I couldn't drive the 1971 cross country now. It would be painful. It's nice to have the best of both though. The 71 convertible does get the looks and thumbs up when I drive it. I can't say the same for the 2015, but my fat car is comfortable.

They're definitely "fatter"! The trunk on the newer Challengers is huge! You could easily put a couple golf bags (3?) in there! Both the old and new have a pretty much worthless rear seat area though! Especially if your tall and have the seat back as far as it can go. Dodge did a great job bringing the Challenger back! And they didn't make it into a 4 door, thank goodness!
