I have a 360 with the slap-shift console.
I am considering swapping out my 904 that is in need of a rebuild with a rebuilt 727.
Besides changing the torque converter, flywheel, kick-down linkage and driveshaft length is there anything else I should be aware of?
Is there a part number sequence I need to stay within?
Thanks

The converter and flywheel are one piece. You need an externally balanced converter for the 360. If you are staying stock get a converter for a 340 and have it balanced for a 360. The 340 has a slightly higher stall. The front yoke is different on the 727. There may be a few other things that are different. I haven't done a change in years.

the linkage & crossmember mounts are generally in the same place unless the trans is out of a 4x4 ,
2 ways to handle the converter , you can get a balanced converter , use a unbalnaced converter with a balanced flex plate

If it's a column shift automatic you will need the 727 trans bracket for the crossshaft it is different than a 904
