Correct water pump question

I am in need of an original water pump for a 1970 Dodge Challenger 383 magnum. The one I have part # 2843290 seems to be about a 1/4” short of lining up with the main shaft pulley and alternator. I can only think this is the incorrect part for the engine.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Make sure you have correct pulleys.

The above picture is with AC , the original post is for non AC .
A simple spacer behind the pulley could solve the problem ,even just 4 or 8 flat washers of equal thickness .

You can buy shims to help align the pulleys. There's a part number stamped in the OEM pulleys. Use the web and see if yours are correct for your 383.

I would space it out with washers, pullies look the same as what I had on my '71 383. Is your crank balancer stock? I had a aftermarket balancer that pushed the crank pully out 1/2 farther
