E Body Bottom Windshield Chrome Fasteners to the COWL

Hi gang. Still plugging away on my 71 Challenger. I have cut off the top half of the Cowl to repair all the rot and rust on the bottom half. I have a new top half ready to go and install. I see the holes for the windshield chrome and referenced . Are the fasteners self tapping? Or have a nut that has to go on the back or weld to the inside surface? Can you help brother???? Todd J
