Hey guys Santa left me a 1970 Plymouth Cuda. Will be building it up slowly over the next 18 months. Body work is already done and its ready to be blocked and painted. Have the build sheet but the Fender Tag is missing. Might be able to hunt it down but its a long shot. U code car. auto 3.23 Posi from factory FF4 paint..... dark green interior(will be switching that to black) Any thoughts on where to try and find the Tag?

Brad

Because you have the build sheet you can have a new tag made you just have to figure out the order the options are stamped and which options are not on the tag. Do you have the VIN tag? I think these can't be reproduced for legal reasons.

I used www.datatags.com Also known as A.G. Backeast. My tag came out perfect, but I had an old tag for them to copy.. give them a call.

Is that Legal to do? And yes the Vin plate is with the car

It is legal to have the fender tag reproduced , while using build sheet. It is NOT legal to reproduce the dash vin or door tag for legal reasons. Ok, let the crap fly !!

Yes, in California it is even legal to restore (not reproduce) the VIN tag itself, when authorized by the DMV. Per section 10750 (b) CVC. (Just don't ask how to get authorization....no one knows). The Fender Tag means nothing to the DMV.

10750. (a) No person shall intentionally deface, destroy, or alterthe motor number, other distinguishing number, or identification mark
of a vehicle required or employed for registration purposes without
written authorization from the department, nor shall any person place
or stamp any serial, motor, or other number or mark upon a vehicle,
except one assigned thereto by the department.
(b) This section does not prohibit the restoration by an owner of
the original vehicle identification number when the restoration is
authorized by the department, nor prevent any manufacturer from
placing in the ordinary course of business numbers or marks upon new
motor vehicles or new parts thereof.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! I had a fender tag made from a build sheet by the good folks at Marti Auto Works. Yes I said Marti Auto Works but they did a great job, it was cheap and it was very fast!
Post up some pics of your Cuda.

welcome from central new york! nice cuda btw and there is a company reproducing the door decal I am trying to get info on it now

To answer previous posts I am in Oceanside CA. Found out the car was in South Dakota in the late 70s. I might get another Fender Tag made. Would like to try and hunt down the original.

Yes I have had them make me a door tag also for my RR great product

Nice car Relax I had a green/green Cuda years ago. Didn't like the green interior then but like the colored interiors now.

body stamp is a bit blurry but it matches the VIN and buildsheet.
