Picked up a 73 Challenger Rallye last year that came from an estate. Hasn't been on the road since about 1993 or so, but had extensive work done to it back then. At some point the 318 was replaced with a .060 over 440 and after some work I've been able to get it running good. For now, I plan to focus on the mechanical, electrical, and suspension, and I'll address the body work later on down the road. According to the fender tag, it appears the car was red with a white top and white interior, which is what I plan to be taking it back to.

Welcome to FEBO from the desert! Nice 73 Challenger! I agree, white top and white interior like it left the factory would look great!

:welcome: aboard.
Justa heads up before you have spent a lot of money.
The interior will never match.
The metal, plastic and vinyl parts will all be a shade off from each other.
To match you would have to spray the whole interior at the same time as the other parts took dye differently and white fades to a cream color.
White interior is better on a show car that nobody will sit in.

Very true. White does look amazing though. With the exception of the top of the driver door panel, all the plastic currently in the car is in excellent condition, it's just black. The engine and trans have to come out for a re-seal, and the suspension needs to be rebuilt before I ever get to the interior.

One of the reasons you see a lot of black interiors.
The pigments used and the plastic formulas of the 70's is quite different from modern standards.
Black was the only color/shade that wouldn't turn to dust after a few years.
Most common practice was to just dye the black panels another color during the restorations.
SEM Trim Paints | Refinish | SEM Products is an excellent source for quality dyes and paints for interior work.

For my 70 Challenger with a factory white interior, I currently have black door and rear panels because the white original ones were in very poor shape. I still have factory white seats as black it too freaking hot in the desert for me! 😀
