Hi y'all, a short intro about myself.........my story starts out in 1977 when I bought a 1968 Dodge Charger 318 for £700=around $1400, thought it was real cool but after 6 months it just wasn't fast enough anymore and I swapped it for 1965 K code Mustang f/back, had a lot of fun in that stick shift car but then came the Cuda's.....a stock '71 340 4 speed, too nice a car to Drag Race, although I did run it a few times to 14.3's, and then came another '71 340 auto in 1980 which got me into Racing proper, running it at Santa Pod in Street class till 1987, I got that down to 11.01 on a more or less stock block and heads with some spray. The thirst for a faster car led me to a 1969 Barracuda with a 440 which came up for sale, we back halved that and managed a 10.7 on an almost stock 440-6pk motor NA and a 9.96 with spray which was my goal, at which time, 1990, I retired. I had the best time of my life those 10yrs racing, but a wife, mortgage and kids were on the horizon. Anyhow, long story short, as its long enough already........I got back into it a bit over the last 3yrs as my 2 boys are now grown up, going to some meets, but racing over here just isn't the same as it was back then to me, fast doesn't have the same meaning, you just order a 900hp motor/trans combo if you got the $$$ and its more or less done, watching bracket/index racing from the stands...well I just seem to fall asleep, the racers today don't like talking tech like I did and still do, they seem a different breed, guess if you wanna know something you just look it up on the net these days, not my idea. I still attend some meets and have hooked up as it were with an old friend from the old days who has just got his new Pro-Mod car out so I can hang with them for some "real" for me, H-up racing.

this original colour as I bought it, called it the Red Baron then, before the white paint job.

the car in the background was my old white car now called "Pinky" with a 440
Top of scoop missing as 30mins before I had a small N20 backfire and it blew
the top off 50ft in the air, somewhat embarrasing, just changed the valley
plate as it was sucked in and back running again.

Hey Hotmetal, I've got a great idea, let's meet over at the Ace Cafe look at a few American classics and motorcycles. We can also do a little bench racing and tip a few Stella Artois. What say mate?
