Well folks, My build journey will begin here. I received 10 boxes from Bill @ Riley motorsports a couple of days ago. I went with a complete front clip and rear streetlynx set up. 14" 6 piston willwoods all around will be the stopping power. I can't wait to get started on this build. Once I finish up the trunk pan I'll get started on the suspension & motor swap. I also purchased a brand new hellcat redeye long block. Fun fact, the build date is the same as my birthday 👍😉
It will be topped off with a completely ported blower from Jokerz performance and will be run on corn (E85). I will be using the factory 8spd transmission as well. I was able to pick up a used one with 35k miles on it. I'm sure I'll have questions along the way so thanks in advance.

Tell me which Santa brought that to you because I want to see if he can do the same for me.

Well, I started taking out the interior. Anyone know what this tag is under the seat? I don't know much about the cars history so it would be nice to get some information on it. Not sure if it means anything or not. My fender tag is MIA so not sure how else to look anything up on it.

To my surprise the floors are nearly perfect. A little surface rust in a few spots but other than that I should be good to go. Some light Sanding surface prep should be all that is needed.

I’m doing this same swap in my ‘Cuda. Did you have Bill at RMS move the motor mount’s forward an inch to help the clearance of the HP90 transmission, or are you going to work the tunnel a bit? Have you decided on a wiring harness yet?

If mine was not a numbers matching being 2nd owner. I would be doing something Hellish as what you are doing. Did you paint it Green with Envy? Why is it I feel that way?

Yes, I wanted to do as little metal work as possible on the tunnel. 1" forward isn't a big deal and it will give me a little more room to access the rear of the motor if needed.

If anyone is looking for an easy way to remove the old undercoating, this is the ticket!!! I purchased a needle scaler from harbor freight and it kicks A**. The coating was falling off in chunks.

Wanted to just clean up and preserve and went a little to far. With everything combustible removed. I had the car up about 2'. Slide a 50k torpedo heater underneath with a 6" elbow stuck in the front. Took only seconds for it to fall off. What didn't just touched it and fell off. With a scraper of course. To my surprise under the factory undercoating bright metal.

A little update on the build. I got the trunk pan fit in and started on the mini tub. Once I get the frame notch finished and the tubs installed I will weld up the trunk pan. I'm saving the pan for last. It's much easier working back there with the trunk out. After that is done I'll start removing the motor, trans, exhaust ect. If I had more time I'd be much farther along. Kids sports are starting up so I'll have less time moving forward.

Your progress is looking good and it all takes a lot of time. You probably already know, but don't forget about putting the access holes in the floor pan for the top shock bolts. Some of the reproduction floor pans already have them punched in.

Ok, I'm just about finished with the driver's side US cartool frame notch kit. I'll weld the top of the trunk pan to the notch last. It's easier to work on the back of the car with the pan out. Next step is to weld in the strip to complete the mini tub. I'll start on the passenger side this weekend. Now that I have one side done the other should go much smoother/faster.

I got all the holes drilled for the spot welds finished this evening. Weld through primer is in the right places as well. I should have the pan finished up this weekend. After that I'll complete the mini tubs then onto the suspension 😁
