Hey guys! This is not a for sure thing yet, but I may be getting a 70 cuda that has been sitting in a garage for the past 15 years. This car has been in my family for the past 20-25 years. It was my uncles. He used to drag race it back in the 90s. He passed away in 2001 and the car has basically sat in the garage ever since. His son started to restore it but well he's not the brightest crayon in the box. Now the car has no interior. I'm looking to buy the car and continue what my uncle started. This is the car that got me into cars. I remember being about 7 or 8 years old and him messing with it in his garage. I remember him starting it up and backing out of the garage and it being so loud it was rattling the glass door I was standing by. Lol it scared me so I hid in the house, but ever since that day I've wanted this car. Now I finally have the opportunity to buy it... if the price is right. From my research so far I realize I need to change all the fluids and rubber components. I also need to clean the carb and possibly rebuild it and make sure the motor will turn by hand. Anything else I may be forgetting? My plan for this car is 1) if it has the original motor I'd like to restore it. 2) if my uncle swapped motors I want to build it for the strip. Let me know what you guys think

Very profound Mitch...
Welcome to the site from the Motor City!
Was the body of the car altered in any way to make it a race car?

I havnt seen the car I'm 4 years and I'm still waiting on pictures and the vin so I'm not sure. The original story I remember as a kid was it was a hemi cuda and my u clear sold the hemi out of it because he needed the cash. The other story I've heard is this is the original motor and he was going to drop a hemi in it but ended up selling the hemi because he needed cash. So until I have the vin I won't know what the real story is

when you do get to the car look for A fender tag. it would be located on the left or drivers side inner fender or apron near the battery tray. A build sheet would have been in the interior usually in between seat cushions and springs but could be found any were inside the car.

Yeah I'm sure the build sheet is long gone but maybe it'll still be there. Now I'm just playing the waiting game for these pictures

Nothing wrong with that! You can build it anyway you want and not hurt the value. Is green the original color?
