Got my new car and sold my 73. Just started to strip it down to prepare it to be blasted. Still have quite a it to take off. Really solid car and has very little rust. Super excited because 71 is my favorite year. Bad news is that the car is missing the grille, seats, and tail light panel. Going to make it a triple black 4 speed 340 car with the rear wing and quarter louvers. It was a 318 super basic car. Ill keep the progress up to date because I plan on this car moving much faster than the last.

Great looking project, congrats! Was it yellow or butterscotch originally?

Not sure what to call the color but it is more of a yellow. The gold color was a bad repaint right on top of the original paint. I think it was in a wreck in 82 and that's why it sat since then. Some bends and dents here and there and it has a front inner fender and rear quarter with Chrysler part numbers still on it. I'm ether taking it to a frame shop to check to make sure it's straight or blasting it then taking it to the frame shop.

Every pic looks like butterscotch accept the one with part of the hood which looked more yellow. I agree, let's see the fender tag if it has one.

Sadly it does not have a fender tag. Vin tag and panel numbers match that's it. it probably is butterscotch that got cover up with a weird gold.

It could be the lighting. Does the original color look like a banana or more like a caramel.

The inner parts of the door and floor and parts that are original paint looks more like a banana and the hood and passenger side fender aren't original. Looks like it was hit on the passenger side front.

Looks like the car has been hit a few times and had bad repair done. Does any have any insight on dents in the frame rails and crossmember? Can you fix that or is better to replace? Everything is really strong on the car and there's very little rust holes so can you fix the dents or would it weaken the metal?
