Starting a new project. Plum Crazy AAR. Let the work begin. Currently all the suspension components are blasted and powder coated. New everything! I will be adding pix as I can! Eaton springs shown disassembled and painted with Chassis black. [Specific for AAR].

Yes lots of quality work and an owner who is not afraid to allow me to purchase the good stuff! This will be a quality build! UPS has been dropping off Year One parts for the past 2 weeks! For me Christmas has never ended! Notice my Avatar...It is the AAR in its current state!

Work only. I do not own the AAR but when its done...It may disappear! LOL. I have several "A" body vehicles and have been involved with A B E body cars for 45+ years. As I've retired last June from teaching Auto Shop, i needed something to do. So why not an AAR car...Only my favorite car when I was growing up! [Black interior/Black Stripe]

Finished rear drums for now. I will not install the new E brake cable until the car is in my shop.

This is one of my...favorite "A" bodies. "H" code 383 car [67]. The license plate is correct. This car runs hard...through the mufflers and on street tires as shown. No power adders...except for cubic inch displacement....[440]

Todays work: Pre-assemble the K member to be sure all components are good to go! Still waiting on new rotors. This will basically go under the AAR for the body shop to move the car for finish body panel fit and to the finish paint area. I do not want all the best stuff under the car only to have over spray on everything! So some will be old parts while other stuff will be new. In any case all will be easy to remove. I am not going to tighten anything down to set the taper or rough up any powder coat if possible! Also note: Power steering will be going on!

Spindle on as well. I did not remove any of this from the vehicle. I currently have the spindle/caliper bracket facing the rear...Is this right? two bolts will make this an easy fix. Any help??? Thank you.

Again thank you for the pix. I would rather ask good questions to those of you who have traveled down this road.

Also, can anyone define what this "tag" is on the K member?

The tag contains the last two digits of the K member part number. Check out this cart;
K Frame Identification
There should be a small round or oval "coin" on the front with a 2 digit number stamped in it. That will be the K-Member part number. There is also a very small 4 digit number stamped near it. Those small numbers is the date. The date will be like 3229 = 322nd day of 1969.

Here's the 19701 K-Frame numbers
10 #2962010 Crossmember (K-Frame) 225 Engine
12 #2962012 Crossmember (K-Frame) 318, 340 & 383 Engines
14 #2962014 Crossmember (K-Frame) 426 Hemi w/ Skid
52 #3583052 Crossmember (K-Frame) 318, 340, 340 T/A & AAR, & 383 Engines
70 #3583070 Crossmember (K-Frame) 198 & 225 Engines
74 #3583074 Crossmember (K-Frame) 318, 340, 383 & (440 w/ Skid) Engines
76 #3583076 Crossmember (K-Frame) 426 Hemi w/ Skid
77 #3466477 Crossmember (K-Frame) 318, 383 & 440 (440 w/ Skid) Engines

Your "52" coin would indicate crossmember # 3583052 for the above mentioned engines. There is also a date code on about the center front of the k member

Ok then, one more question??? What is the dent in the K member on the driver front for? I looked at three different E body K members and this dent is the same on all three. I was going to fix it until I saw the others with the same "factory" indentation! {Big block oil pump clearance?} Radiator hose clearance? Or just a "jig" issue?
