Finding Date of Manufacture (D.O.M)

hi All, How do I find the D.O.M. of my 71 Challenger if the black information decal is missing ?(from the drivers door). My 73 Rallye has it but my 71 doesn't, I presume it was missing before I bought this car. Does the VIN tag on the crash pad near the windscreen have a code for the D.O.M.? I have the options tag from the engine bay but I can't see any date there.

I put this OP thread here in Body Shop, as that's where the numbers are.

The options tag or fender tag has a scheduled production date on it. It’s found in the second row from the bottom and right of middle and it’s 3 digit. For example my SPD is 126 for January 26th. Post up a pic of your tag.

Hey, great info - thanks DetMatt1 ! My number is 617, so that's 17 Jun 1971. Great help! I thought mine must be an early build (or maybe very late build) as it has the two torsion bars in the trunk, whereas I thought 71 models went to one TB (and then back to two when they realised it wasn't a good idea).
