I'm new to this forum and may have some questions on my '74 Challenger. Right now it's a 440 auto and I may do a gen3 Hemi swap. I would like to keep the K frame as long as I can fit the low mount AC compressor down there. Like to know going in what the problems may be with the swap.

Welcome to the site from Arkansas! That’s a very nice Challenger! Looks great. I look forward to checking out the swap if you do it. Sounds sweet like it is. Have a Merry Christmas and glad you’re on the site.

Welcome from Panama , great collection of cars !!
Personally having done a few gen 3 Hemi swaps I would stay with the 440 & add EFI . I doubt you will get the AC to work down low but I could be wrong , the right frame rail lip has to be trimmed off just to fit the alt & don't try to use the angled oil filter adapter , it will not work either unless you never want to change the filter , you will need the oil filter block off plate & use the tapped holes in the block to run the filter to a remote location .
I would add a multi port EFI system & maybe stroke tthe 440 to 512 & you will have all of the benefits & more tq .

I thought about EFI but didn't think the advantage would outlay the cost. From what I have read the MPG doesn't change much and the big advantage is better starts. My thought on the gen3 although the cost is crazy it would get the bells and whistle, power and fuel mileage. I have a 74 charger with no motor or trans and was planning to gen3 that but I like this car and just would like to know it will run and not leak, the added power & fuel mileage are a plus.

1969 Javelin SST BIG BAD ORANGE factory color, I pulled from a barn 5 years ago and spent 2 years restoring. It had been parked there in 1988. It's a 290 automatic floor shift AC car. Runs great and I have put 8,000 miles on it over the last 3 years.

I did a multiport 440 about a decade ago , it was nutz , the fuel economy improved for sure but it also made over 700 RWHP on a Mustang dyno , drivability was awesome !
My first car was a Red Javelin SST 343 !
