I was looking for my signal flasher because it's blinking too fast. I found this and unplugged it. I noticed it was quite hot. The signals and emergency flashers still work without it.
What is it?
Should it be hot?

you might want to check all your bulbs, if you have one burnt out it will cause the others to flash fast

SO you found the delay timer for the intoerior lights , yes it gets hot
the flasher is near the ashtray

I replaced the delay timer with no change. I replaced the flasher and now the signals flash normally. Apparently, the flasher can make a difference in the frequency of the signals.

There are actually TWO flashers. One is for the turn signals (ashtray) and one is for the 4-ways. IIRC, it's on the steering column support.
