start up problems

Hi all,
Me and my son have been building a 72 Dart (his car)after 2yrs we finally got it all together.Went to start it and flamed out carb.rotated 180
now pops out headers.318 #302 heads .484 purple cam.found tdc drop distributor in rotated dist.180 like i said above.cant seam to get it to start.any ideas guys?

First double check that you have the plug wires on right. Then make a mark on the distributor body where the #1 post is. With the engine at TDC on #1, remove the dist cap. Turn the dist. so that the mark you made is dirrectly under the electrode on the rotor. Your timing should now be at "0". The engine should start.
