Windage Tray on 340 - Use the original or go with new Milodon windage tray with new larger Milodon oil pan? Is there a difference?

Is this the road race pan thats gated?
I have the milodon U weld it gated pan kit, that I was going to use on my next motor, but it has a full T head shape.

No. That’s the “Low Pro”. It has the notch in middle to create a higher spillover wall during acceleration. That feature was used in the road race pan too.

Your right, it was moroso.
It looks just like that once I welded it together. I just havent put it on a pan yet.
The biggest clearance problem would be fixed by long pitman and idler.
I expect that pan would be $800 if the other one is mid $500

The curve of K-member rear lip creates wide pan issues.

Really so in A-body 73-76 K-member applications I help test fit it on.

As much pan as possible!! :

Awesome. I was able to recondition the original tray, have the crank cap bolts both are in great shape, but am curious is to what type of bolts will screw to the cab bolts. Anybody ever change them out?

Looks like you used header wrap to protect the starter/wires. Are your headers ceramic coated as well? I just got my set of Doug Thorley headers. Motor is still at machine shop. Did you have to loosen your engine and raise it to get your headers in?

I put the headers in at the same time as the motor. But it was in an A-body. So tighter engine compartment than an E-body. And I run a 73-76 Spool type motor mount K-member that even tighter. With this 73-76 K-member in an A-body, the motor can only be put in without the trans connected.

I got it cleared through the wife and the new tray and hardware are on their way. Better piece of mind. Thank you for your help!
